A transcoding service or transcoder provider is responsible for the process of converting a video into multiple renditions. Each rendition is transcoded to different sizes, allowing you to offer your video in different qualities, making it adaptive to the user’s internet strength/speed, and overall creating a better viewing experience.
Connect supports the following transcoding providers:
To configure a transcoder provider, perform the following steps:
Open the Providers menu and select Transcoder.
Click New Transcoder Provider. The Create new Transcoder Provider page is displayed.
Enter a name for your provider in the Name field.
Select a type:
A. When selecting MediaConvert, the following fields are displayed:
The Region is the AWS Region, used to access AWS MediaConvert.
The Account Id is the AWS MediaConvert account ID.
The Queue arn field is the Amazon Resource Name (ARN) for the AWS MediaConvert Queue.
The IAM role field is the Identity and Access Management (IAM) used to identify your AWS user.
The Access Key ID field is the username for API access to AWS services. This needed access to the S3 bucket.
The Secret Access Key field is the password to the Access Key ID field.
The Access Control drop-down allows you to select the S3 ACL policy type on file transfers.
B. When selecting Hybrik, the following fields are displayed:
The Url field is the Hybrik API connection URL, comprised of the API path and API version (the "v1" in "https://api_demo.hybrik.com/v1").
The Oapi key field is the the account OAPI Key, used to authenticate with HybrikAPI.
The Auth Key field is the user name or e-mail address used to authenticate with Hybrik.
The Compliance Date field is the date from which the client is compliant with the Hybrik API, validated on every API connection, in YYYYMMDD format.
The Oapi Secret field is the account OAPI password, used to authenticate with HybrikAPI.
The Auth Secret field is the password used to authenticate with Hybrik.
The Credentials Key field allows users to access the Hybrik transcoder through the key you set.
The Task Tags field is a list of jobs/tasks flagged to help keep track in Hybrik.
Click Save. Your transcoder provider is created and displayed in the Transcoder Providers menu.
