Delivering Master Feeds

Creating and Updating Feeds through Batches

To create or update a feed through a batch:

  1. Create your batch. Configure the batch to use the previously set up platform, where your feed configuration can be found. For more information about the required configuration, see Master Feed Deliveries.
  2. Add jobs using the desired package template for either .xml or .csv/.xlsx feeds.
  3. Start your jobs.
  4. QC Approve all your jobs.
    Note

The jobs should be in the Waiting for Delivery status.

  5. Click Batch Actions, and select Deliver to create or update your master feed file. The Batch Actions menu
    Note

There might be a small delay between QC Approving all jobs and the Deliver button becoming available.

    Important

Do not individually deliver your jobs as they will not be used to update the master feed file.

When using the Batch ActionsDeliver functionality, a Post Delivery Workflow is triggered, which is where the master feed file is either created or updated. The Batch Actions menu
  6. After the Post Delivery Workflow finishes, the master feed file is created and delivered at the specified destination.
    Notes

The Post Delivery Workflow also creates backup files for the master feed file. The backup files do not serve any purpose in the logic of the feed functionality (deleting them has no impact on the feed functionality).

    • Their purpose is to offer operators a mechanism to manually restore previous data for the master feed file. The Post Delivery Workflow automatically creates and delivers both the master feed file and the backups to the configured destination.

    • There is no direct relation between the Post Delivery Workflow and the location of the master feed file. If the master feed file is delivered into external buckets, outside of the organization bucket, the master feed file will not discoverable in the Media Items list of the organization.
